Mrs. Anderson's Baking Brown Sugar Saver and Softener keeps brown sugar from hardening for 3 to 6 months, and re-softens already-hardened brown sugar. The high-fired terracotta clay maintains optimal moisture levels and desirable food textures for 3 to 6 months, depending on the area climate. No more chiseling through rock-hard sugar. Simply soak it in clean water for 20-minutes, pat it dry, and place it in with the brown sugar and other soft food items in an airtight container. It releases moisture slowly to retain food softness. Should the items begin to harden, repeat the soaking process and place it back in with the food. It's ideal to soften, re-soften, and maintain moisture in brown sugar, granulated sugar, sugar in the raw, turbinado sugar, and sugar substitutes, baked goods, cakes, soft-baked cookies, marshmallows, and dried fruit. Used dry, without soaking, it absorbs moisture and retains crispness in crackers, pretzels, chips, crunchy granola bars, and nuts, and keeps spices, salt, and flours from caking. Made from high-fired terracotta clay, Mrs. Anderson's Baking Brown Sugar Saver and Softener is reusable, food safe, heat safe (to 1,112-degrees Fahrenheit), and should be rinsed with clean water only, no soap, as it could leave a trace taste or scent. Not recommended for microwave use, as it could crack. Brought to you by HIC, a third-generation family owned and operated company in the USA since 1957.
